One night I saw a star
gleaming at me from afar
I watched it shining oh so bright
filling the night sky with its light
then suddenly I couldn't believe my eyes
the light flashed and seemed to rise
before it started its lengthy descent
making absolutely certain its intent
it flew by and we watched in awe
a sight so natural and raw
it zoomed to the ground below
what a brilliant, breath-taking show
I looked around and grinned in glee
praise the Lord that sight I did see!
