So as i was doing my devotions tonight and just hanging out with Jesus, I was thinking about church. As you stand up in church (at least we do) to worship our Savior, if you look around most of the people will be standing with their arms crossed or at their sides. Some 'rebels' will have their hands in the air. If we as Christians know that we were SAVED by the most incredible being in the entirety of things to come and everything there ever is shouldn't we give him more praise than just standing there? we should be jumping for joy shouting his praise at the tops of our lungs until our voices are hoarse! God is SO amazing that he gave us his ONLY SON. Can you imagine going through all the pain of raising your child just to know that one day you would let him DIE for all these people you didn't know? Would you be able to do it? I don't know about you, but im pretty sure when i have kids ill be able to better understand the love God has for us! I've been thinking a lot lately about things that we as Christians come to think are just normal. Jesus died for our sins and rose again on the 3rd day yada yada. I think that we get these things drilled into our brains SO MUCH that they lose their clarity. This is THE most amazing thing to ever happen and we just treat it nonchallantly because we are used to hearing about it. God is AMAZING and completely and totally UNIQUE in every way! There never has been and never will be anyone like him! We should be filled with AWE every morning and night because this PERFECT being loves US! We sin SO MUCH and God HATES sin, yet he gives us uncompromiseable love! That just boggles my mind! That GOD, totally completely PERFECT in every sense, could love ME when i sin SO MUCH? It's awe-inspiring!




When we have praise and worship time in church do you listen? No i mean REALLY listen? Read the words and think about them! We are singing awesome praises to him and a lot of people don't even stop to realize what we are saying! I've started taking a praise song, some i've known my whole life, that have become ritual to me and disecting it before i go to sleep. It helps me by thinking about the meaning either word by word or line by line. You'll find out a lot of these songs are actually really really cool! No matter how long you've been singing it, how old the song is, or how boring it might be, it's really all about GOD. Who cares if you don't like the song or it doesn't fit your range very well? Sing out and sing proudly! You're praising the most AMAZING being in the entire universe! Act excited! Throw your hands up in the air in completely admiration! God is AMAZING in everyway! Act amazed.



I don't know about you, but as i praise in church, sometimes a song will just hit me (not literally... more like i realize the true meaning) and i just feel compelled to put my hands up to fully give it all to God. He's awesome. Why not? Call me a Jesus Freak, I don't care, but He is my God and i will praise him completely and entirely just the way he was meant to be praised!:)
