Future

Something God has really laid on my heart lately is worry -- specifically about the future. I find myself lapsing into obsessive day dreams about graduating, college, and what else God has in store for my life. While these things can be good at times, it's definitely not okay for me to be mulling over them with such fervor so that they take away valuable God-time. Instead of living in the moment, I'm living in future moments that haven't happened yet. I'm sure I've missed many God-given opportunites because of this! Not okay. So instead of living in the past or future, live in the present. Sure God has great plans for the future, but what's really important to focus on is what He has going on right now. Otherwise, you could miss something really important. So enjoy life! God knows His plans for our lives, and all we can do is trust Him.

Proverbs 12:25 --
An anxious heart weighs a man down,
but a kind word cheers him up.

Matthew 6:27 --
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

Luke 21:34-35 --
Watch out! Don’t let your hearts be dulled by carousing and drunkenness, and by the worries of this life. Don’t let that day catch you unaware, like a trap. For that day will come upon everyone living on the earth.

1 Peter 5:7 --
Cast all your anxiety on Him, for He cares for you.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 --
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
